Chevalier High-Precision 3-Axes Automatic Surface Grinder 24" x 40" - FSG-2440ADS

The FSG-ADS series features a high-precision, fully automatic, three-axes grinder with a new PLC controller. The cutting-edge device provides a grind cycle with rough grinding, fine grinding, spark-out passes and an automatic over-wheel dresser with compensation, which can be added to fully automate the grind process. After the cycle is finished, the table will “park” either left or right of the saddle and at the front to facilitate unloading and loading.

The series is well suited for mass production, easy to set-up, program and operate and user-friendly conversational programming.

Features:

• The machine’s spindle can be set to “stop running” or “continue running.” The wheel head can also be set to return to the start position or to park at a reference point. Once the cycle is started, the wheel head moves rapidly to the start point and repeats the grind cycle. If material is required to be removed from both sides, “flip over” can be selected so that the wheel head position is at the finish grind height, which then starts grinding immediately without touching off.
  
  
• The fully automatic grind feature consists of rough and fine grinding cycles, switching from rough grinding down-feed increments to fine grinding down-feed increments at preset points during the cycle. This crossfeed also switches from a rough to fine cross-feed increment, resulting in a finer surface finish and finer accuracy.
  
  
• Once the total preset depth is reached, which is displayed on the elevating digital read-out, the machine performs the preset spark-out passes. The control automatically dresses the grinding wheel and compensates the dress amount during the grind cycle, enabling the machine to run unattended if the optional automatic parallel over the wheel dresser is purchased.
  
  
• The rigid construction features all essential casting, made of high-grade dense cast iron, stress relieved and ribbed to enhance rigidity and increase stability. The wheel head is coated with Turcite-B travels on the hardened and grounded column ways. An AC servo motor provides high torque, high-speed and accurate positioning with a minimum increment of 0.001mm (0.0001"). A manual pulse generate (MPG) is standard for easy operation.
  
  
• The spindle is supported by six, Class 7 (P4), super-precision, angular-contact ball bearings, which have been accurately measure, selected and preloaded. Crossfeed guideway travel on hardened and ground double "V" base guideways are laminated with Turcite-B then precisely hand scraped for smooth and stable longitudinal movement.
