The PL-1640 has a full cast iron base that is integrated into the main frame of the lathe, making this one of the most rigid lathes on the market. It is powered by a 7.5 hp motor and can turn rpms form 30 to 2000 through its 12 speeds. The PL-1640 comes standard with a factory installed Mitutoyo DRO (digital read out) for making precise cuts, halogen light, a three jaw chuck, steady rest and follow rest. All this in one complete package.
